Yesterday we remembered Eleanor Davis, sister of Jenny and daughter of Bruce and Linda as it is six years since her life was cut short by an epileptic fit whilst at university. We celebrated the fun and laughter she brought to our lives with her quirky sense of humour and permanent upbeat spirit. She was such a caring young lady with a big heart. I knew her all her life as she and Jenny were the closest of friends with my two.
The quiz night was in aid of SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) https://www.sudep.org/ and the hall was packed full of friends and family for the second quiz fundraiser. I shared a table with Bruce and Linda neighbours and friends, my friends of 26 years Mary, her husband Jim, Carol and her daughter Sarah and my two daughters, Lucy and Libby.
With a raffle, game of heads and shoulders and a lucky dip draw I know we’ll beat last year’s total of £3,000. Though tinged with sadness – it was an evening of warmth and conviviality. And, by the way, our team won the quiz!
